Macau SAR Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, and the Mayor of Jiangmen, Pang Guomei, officiated at the opening ceremony of the “Guangdong Macau Week - Jiangmen”. Jointly hosted by the Macau Special Administrative Region Government and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and co-organized by the Macau Government Tourist Office, Jiangmen Municipal People’s Government, and Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province, the “Guangdong Macau Week - Jiangmen” ran from April 13 until yesterday.
“Guangdong Macau Week - Jiangmen” was comprised of a series of activities including a tourism seminar, a travelmart, a tourism and cultural exhibition, a cultural performance, and an outdoor promotional campaign. The tourism and cultural exhibition showcased Macau World Heritage sites, with miniatures of the Ruins of St Paul’s, A-Ma Temple and Guia Lighthouse. Other displays included the Macau Grand Prix, a booth highlighting the Macau Tourism and Cultural Activities Center, Macau cuisine, booths for travel trade, and a tourism information counter. A team of more than 130 performers, including dragon and lion dance groups, Portuguese folk and Hip Hop dancers, carnival-style stilt walkers and Macau singers performed at the event. Following the “Guangdong Macau Week – Jiangmen”, a “Macau-Portugal Food Festival” will be staged in Jiangmen to promote 42 iconic delicacies of Macau from April 16 to May 16.
