Escape from the traffic and bustle of the city, and spend an afternoon wandering through Beishan Village.
Taken from our directory:
"Yang's ancestral hall is a “must see” cultural site in Beishan village.
Yang's Ancestral Hall was built in 1868 as a sacrifice hall in the village. The whole construction is designed as a symmetrical Chinese garden on a central axis. The delicate carvings inside the hall indicate the proficient and artistic techniques of ancient Chinese architecture in the Qing Dynasty. Even the old well and old trees that can tell you a long history and glory the Yang's family had."
The area is rich with classic architecture and old constructions, some of them undergoing renovation and restoration work.
Also check out the July 1st coffee shop located near the ancestral hall. We'll publish a gallery of pics devoted to this splendid little retreat later.
