Open a Middle Eastern restaurant! I could go for a nice kebab halali, hummus, baba ganoush and oh-so-many other things right about now!

@Dave, I WISH. Not my area of expertise though I do experiment at home a lot with various food :o) Hummus, baba ghanooj and Persian rice with tadiq are on my list of experiments :o)

@JJ I was just talking to Kaya about it. Unfortunately atm it is too far for me to take a trip to with a toddler and a half :o) And there are some specific dishes I am craving that they don't serve (my friends have visited there though and were very happy with the gourmet experience :o) ). I hope they expand and open another branch somewhere closer to Jida!!!

Whenever Im in GZ I always hit up the Lebanese Nights restaurant for some Baba G, BBQ, Pita, mmmm. Being deprived of mid east food makes everyday makes it taste all that more succulent. Its in the yuexiu area right across from the nanyue wang museum. Must try if your a mid east foodie like me

@ JJ - Thanks for the recommendation.

@ Cheekygal - as they say in the Middle East... The mountain does not move to Mohammed, Mohammed must move to the mountain.

If there are foods you are craving, simply let us know and we can prepare them for you. Hopefully you'll understand, that if only one person in an expat community of around 3,000. asks for something we will not run it as a standard, but we can make anything as a special request, just give us a few days notice...

Re expanding to Jida - we've been running Euro Deli since June of 2011, it is way too soon for us to consider expanding...

For now, you know where we are and you are always welcome.

How are you doing? Maybe Euro Deli could offer a delivery service for the Expats and locals that do not live in their area? Like Kunst Bakery does once a fortnight?!?!

There is a new restaurant just opened in Hua Fa Century City called The Garden, they have Hummus on the menu, I have not tried it yet I tried their burger yesterday and it was yummy!

Anyway, whilst we are on the subject of some one should..... Open a Burger King or MacDonalds, Marks & Spencers, Mothercare and H&M in Hua Fa Century City!!!

FIngers crossed you and the baby get your craving foods ASAP x

Taffy, all is good here! Waiting for mini-me to get over her cold so I can come to your neighbourhood!
I have mastered hummus, I am proud to day lol
I vote for Mothercare and Marks& Spencer's - I am not big on shopping but these are great!

Also tried The Garden in Huafa Century earlier this week (walking distance) - they just opened and although expensive, the food was really good. I second the burger props from Taffy. Finding a decent burger around here has turned out to be a huge challenge, this one was the best so far. We did order the hummus, and it was pretty tasty, nice garlic, although I am not an expert on ME food at all. The bread they served with the hummus was outstanding.

Speaking of additions in restaurants. I just found out there is a... Russian restaurant in Xiangzhou. You can only get it by reservation ahead of time. I'll dare and try it and let you know how authentic it is :)

@mobyrne

The bread is from Cesar, I believe, an up-and-coming Parisian bakery in Zhongshan. They have it delivered daily. Very, very tasty.
