Shipment Personal Effects Into Zhuhai
I am a Hong Kong ID holder and plan to move to Zhuhai. Now I am in the Middle East and will be sending my personal belongings, clothes, books, dvds, cooking utensils, and limited electronics to Zhuhai. I wonder if there anyone with Customs or clearing/shipping to whom I could inquire about any issues before sending my things. Can I get the phone number of the Customs official so I can talk to them direclty? Thank you.
I'm in a similar situation as you but all of my stuff is in Hong Kong. From what I've found out, it's difficult to ship any personal belongings into China. You pay tax and duty on all electrical appliances. Then you also have to have a work permit, visa, health certificate an resident permit all in place before you can bring your stuff in. All of this has to be not less than 12 months in duration. Clearing customs can take from a few days to over a week.
