One hundred thousand reward for Hengqin New Area logo

The newly founded Hengqin New Area Administrative Committee is soliciting worldwide for a unique logo that will promote the identity, spirit and vitality of China’s third-ever state-level development zone -- Hengqin.

The logo will be used in a series of promotions to make clear the national status of Hengqin New Area, forge its image, solidify the involvement of various parties and attract international interest. Therefore the logo will embody a fervent atmosphere for superb and comprehensive development of the island. For more information please visit www.hengqin.gov.cn/en.

The successful entrant will receive a pretax payment of 100,000 yuan ($14,640). The top10 entrants will receive 2,000 yuan ($290) each. Thirty participants will be presented with gifts. Taxes are the responsibility of the recipients.

Logo Design for Hengqin New Area

Design concept:
The design must reflect the Hengqin New Area “one country, two systems” policy, the opening up to Hong Kong and Macao and then to the rest of the world. It has to highlight scientific development and trailblazing, and convey Hengqin as an open, energetic, intelligent eco-island.

In execution, the design should be a high-resolution computer-drawn or handmade image with strong visual appeal, concise composition and creative ideas that adapt seamlessly to publicity on television, in newspapers, via cybermedia and on flags, badges and other publications. Self-promotion of the designer is prohibited.

The design must be accompanied by clearly stated brief interpretations of the image, both printed separately on ISO A4 paper format.

Finally, finalists are obliged to revise and improve their sketches as requested before submitting their complete, detailed designs.

The sponsor, Hengqin New Area Administrative Committee, will permanently possess any and all intellectual property rights inherent in the selected design and have the right to use, develop, revise, authorize, license or protect it by all legal means. Apart from the prize money mentioned in this announcement, there will be no additional payment at any time to come.

Applicants are responsible for the copyright of their creative submissions. The applications will be processed on first-come-first-served basis. Applicants shall bear their own expenses in participating in this endeavor.

Furthermore, the sponsor will have the final right to interpret its rules and requirements and will execute them in accordance with Chinese law. Submission of an application and entry constitutes unconditional consent to all the aforementioned terms.
