immigration office
Hello there
Please can someone advise where the Zhuhai immigration office is and can you describe the location so that I can get there without getting terribly lost!
Many thanks :)

I have emailed you Google maps link :-) You can input the Chinese name into your GPS or Google Maps and get all the directions.
Cheeky:
1) How many old jokes do you get daily about your pen name? If not enough, let us know and we'll send you lots! :-)
2) When you say that Taffy can input the Chinese name into her Google Maps, do you mean the Chinese characters or the Pinyin? If the characters, how to do that?
Your ability to cope in China seems light years ahead of mine.
@Toby,
To answer your second question.....
No need to type Chinese characters or do pinyin.......just copy & paste this on your Google map:
出入境管理处 Xiangzhou
@toby - to answer your second question : what atlarge said. I meant copy paste of course :-) You can also copy-paste the English name and get the result.
I think my ability comes from my desire to minimize the language barrier - anyone can do it, there is not much talent needed. And Internet gives us a great opportunity to do that ;-))
As for your first question - I don't care much for those ;-)))
We never registered birth, just did visa work for miss T. The only thing you might need to do is register with the local police office where you belong to.
this whole thing is confusing. I just Googled and yes, one must do that within 30 days from birth but no documents requirement or anything. With miss T we were never told to do that but apparently psb called husband's work and asked to do that. A still has no passport so we thought it is after we get one but apparently it should be before. I'm going to the area tomorrow for some paper work and will pop in to ask for details. I was there a month and a half ago extending mom's visa with a newborn stating i just had a baby and they never asked me whether we registered the birth or not. A was barely 2 weeks old at the time. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
An update:
I went to the immigration this morning, counter 17. And I was told that the birth registration is basically applying for visa process: get passport first, then go to the local police station where you reside, get registration, then to the immigration building to apply for visa for China, then back to the local police station to get a new registration based on the current visa.
Taffy, basically you get the passport and register him in Shenzhen where you get your visa, and after you get the visa you go to the local police station that you belong to in Zhuhai and register here again. With just a birth certificate I don't see where you could even register an infant - at the immigration there isn't a form for that. Only a visa application.
there is no break - as Taffy pointed out, no one knows anything. Off to local police tomorrow as that's where the birth should be registered. Shouldn't we have immigration office details in zhuhai essentials or something? And we really need to have a page or something with various laws information. It's strange how no one gives that info and then people get fined. Better to make an effort to help ourselves. I'm sure the regulations on marriage, birth and such are somewhere online. Perhaps they could be uploaded somewhere on the website? Taking into the account that each city listed here still has difference in citing these regulations.
Sorry for messages flood. Thank you, Google, I found what I was looking for:
http://www.china.org.cn/english/LivinginChina/184914.htm
Paragraph 26. Who would have known? I have looked at a few websites of the Embassies and there is absolutely no such information.
Taffy, in your case, I would register here. And then take the paper and register in Shenzhen again. This way you secure yourself everywhere. Gosh, what a headache!!!
A few of us have compiled all the information together based on our experience with foreign baby's born in Zhuhai and what is needed for the registration of birth. We will be sending it to the DB admins shortly.
Great! Thank you for sharing. :-)
Wow, what a monumental and useful piece of work.
Thanks so much to all who participated, gathered information, waited in lines only to be told that they needed another document not mentioned earlier, etc. Thanks!!!!!
When and where will the results be published?
Not sure when. If you want the information for yourself, PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Cheers CG, not sure if I need to go there at all. Our agent called them yesterday and they advised if visa is not to be obtained in Zhuhai no need to register the birth! We get our visa's in Shenzhen as hubby's company is located there! I'll spill the beans at a later date as I need to go and check just to make sure..........
Thanks again :)
