Hi everyone. I was hoping someone could assist me with a question I have. I have a 12 month visa which requires me to leave China every 30 days. I completely messed up this month and missed the 30 days by 2 days. I am going to head to Gongbei tomorrow and see what they tell me but I was wondering if anyone has run into this issue, and what were the consequences?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The worst would be you paying a fine, around 500RMB per day. But I hope it doesn't happen! Go as soon as possible.

Haha, I wish you good luck!

I have tried this one time before (also overstayed 2 days).
I ended up spending all day in the PSB in Xiangzhou for getting the temporary one-day visa that you'll need to leave China.
Also spend a couple of hours in the police station behind PSB, and yes: It's RMB 500 for each day you have overstayed.

One good advice: Bring every - and I mean EVERY - thinkable and unthinkable paper that you possess! Trust me, you will need them.
Oh, and you will become very familiar with the people in the overprized copy/photo shop across the street...

So just got back from Macau (passed through Wanzai, Gonbei was insane as usual) and they let me through with a warning... Maybe because it was only three days or perhaps the puppy dog face...

Thank you for your comments they were helpful...I am just super thankful that it worked out.

That's great, you were lucky. Actually, back then I had the feeling that the guy in the booth was ready to let me pass too, but unfortunately his supervisor was standing behind him, and she was NOT in a good mood that day....
