Zhongshan internship in august - general advice
Hello,
I'm a CS guy from Germany who is going to do an internship in Zhongshan for 5 months starting in august 2012.
I got the internship-offer relatively late, so I couldn't really study a sufficient amount of Mandarin/Cantonese.
I'm a little bit lost. The company offers me 4K renminbi/month and a place to live.
Could you give me some general advice about the area and maybe some pointers on how to handle people/money/culture.
I'm not so much of a nightlife person, would like to visit some major cities (Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzen etc.) nearby and I'm thinking about getting a motorized scooter there although I'm not sure if I need a licence or if that would even be worth it. Other than that I don't really have many ideas for activities, any suggestions?

Hi there! Welcome~ though im also a fresh here but im trying hard to fit in this city. I suppose 'where you live' is a significant problem according to my own experience. My company is located in the eastern area, a bit far away from the certral part of the city, and I only have a bike (it's a good idea to buy a motorized scooter ;)), which means it's not that convenient to go far away from my apartment :(
