Macau during Grand Prix

I have the itch to visit Macau, but this is Grand Prix week. And I have no interest in the race. Does anyone have any comments on what it is like this week for non-race fans? Is the Gongbei immigration impossibly slow (more than it usually is)? Are the shuttle buses running? Do they have to be re-routed around the racetrack making them inconvenient? Are there so many people that is just not worth going?
