A disconcerting story indeed, my sympathies mate. I have to say that I've never been affected by 'bad' beer in my 6 years in Zhuhai. However I gave up frequenting Bar Street a long time ago but when I did, I never excepted opened beer; never left an open drink while I attended the WC (took it with me if necessary!), and following the 'saying'; I never mixed beers, as in changing brand!
The airport buses are great , they go every 30 minutes and I believe they come back from the airport last bus around 1145pm. taxis are ok if there are 5 or 6 people going if not the bus is great
Once you have gone through the customs on the Zhuhai side, there aren't any real taxis (most of the time).
Many private drivers are there waiting and they provide a fairly good service. However, make sure that you negotiate the price before you get in the car. Around 50 RMB for Gongbei and 60 RMB for Jida.
The coach will not wait for sure. And at this time, no public transportation available to come back to Zhuhai.
Are you going to pick up your mother? If so, then the best is to rent a car from Zhuhai. Call Lisa (13697736710) for a quote.
Another solution is to stay overnight in GZ.

That's not true, my USD account is always over $50,000 per year. It is just when the amount reach to $50,000 within a year, the over amount USD will be exchanged in dollar cash rate instead of wired rate. That means a little bit lower. That's it.
Yes, I also know teachers who did the TEFL course at GLV are now currently teaching. I didn't mean to reflect negatively on the course at GLV from a ‘teaching’ standpoint.
My main argument was that the British Council wouldn't accept it as a prerequisite to be eligible for training as an IELTs Examiner; another way to go with your 'teaching career'. As a resident of Zhuhai at that time I found this situation very frustrating and inconvenient.
The other point I was making was that GLV were not very forthcoming with any help regarding the British Council’s position; (they just claimed it was acceptable) but offered no assurances or proof of their claims, so I lost confidence in them. I then elected to play it safe and do the CELTA in Shanghai. (not cheap either).

And also, TESOL and TEFL virtually are the same thing but somehow they are different. In GLV there is a TEFL training center. I know many people who obtained their certificates there and had no problem teaching. And by the way, their website isn't called tesolintl it is teflintl :-)
For a Kindergarten you will not beat Yung Wing - check out www.rh-kids.com I have a young one there and it really is exceptional. Very, very highly recommended.
Also, you can only exchange up to $50,000 USD per year. So if you make more than that you won't be able to exchange it from USD to RMB and you will have USD in your Chinese bank account with no way to use it.
