THE orbital module of Shenzhou-7 and a model of the re-entry module will be exhibited at the 7th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, or Airshow China, from November 4 to 9 in Zhuhai. It will be the first public presentation of the orbital module, the Airshow Executive Committee said at a press conference on Thursday in Beijing.

ONE, two, three -- three expat couples learned the slow waltz after an hour’s instruction by Cassy Guo, vice general manager of the JC Dance Studio at the intersection of West Renmin and Yinhua roads in Xiangzhou Friday night.
“It is the first ballroom dancing group class in English in Zhuhai,” said ZIA Vice President Maureen Keen. The first course will last eight weeks with class resuming when the expatriates come back from Christmas and New Year’s break in January, she said.

TWELVE western and Chinese women attended the first aerobics class at the D1 Fitness Club on the 6th floor of the Duty-Free Emporium in Jida Thursday morning. After the hour-long exercise, everyone looked flushed and happy. The class term is eight weeks, ZIA Vice President Maureen Keen explained.
“It’s a start and there will be more,” Maureen said. It might be two times weekly for aerobics and one night each week for ballroom dancing, she added.

TRICK-or-treating will begin at Richmond Hill Villas in Gongbei at 6pm October 31 to celebrate Halloween. Children and adults dressed in Halloween costumes – ghosts, witches, cats and pumpkins being traditional -- will knock on the doors of expat residents and say, “Trick or treat," as all the participating households will have treats for the children. There will be no tricks!

Another member of the Zhuhai delegation, inventor Su Ruitian, has patented the “Intelligent reactive power auto-compensation economizer of power consumer,” which can save 2 to 10 per cent on energy by minimizing the flow of reactive current in a power source.

ZHUHAI Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc and Fuhua Co Ltd have been authorized as third-group headquarters enterprises and thus are entitled to subsidies for office premises and preferential policies on land usage and in other matters.
Zhuhai Gree Group Corp, Huafa Group and United Laboratories have already been authorized as headquarters enterprises since the Regulation of Encouraging Development of Headquarters Enterprises was issued in July 2006, highlighting their contribution to city development and setting examples for other local businesses.

Street beautified

WITH an investment of some 3 million yuan ($437,000), the Doumen Xinmin Road Pedestrian Street renovation project will make the street look much nicer upon completion in late November, Doumen District Construction Department Director Li Zhe said.
Marble will replace the old pavement, 25 “electronic eyes” will be installed and comfortable benches will be placed on the street, which has become the busiest business area in downtown Doumen.
