If you’ve been walking around Hong Kong lately, you might have encountered a blast from the past: colorful, square-tiled mosaic motifs taken from the classic arcade video game, Space Invaders.
Made by the French street artist known only as Invader, dozens of them can be found on sidewalks, street corners, shopfronts and overpasses. They are part of his “Space Invaders” project, which spans more than 60 cities in 30 different countries.
For Invader, the world is his playground—or canvas. “This is a life project and the project of my life,” he said.
